The only driver to win a race in his 20's, 30's and 40's. The first driver to win a race in his 40's since Nigel Mansell in 1994 and the oldest to win a race since Jack Brabham in 1970. He is the 8th youngest and 7th oldest driver to win a race. He extended the record of longest gap between first and last(/latest) wins. Hes the only driver to win after their 300th race and hes done it for two different teams now.

And its not like he was driving slow and steady to win, he did 7 fastest lap times and the margin to Merc was 20 seconds.

I'm not a huge Hamilton fan, but the guy is a absolute machine that just keeps coming at you. You just have to respect him.

You can't make me respect him. I might huff slightly more silent, like, once.

I'm a Verstappen fan myself, but also have a soft spot for Peréz and Piastri. I do think Lewis Hamilton is a machine. He's the GOAT of the GOATs of the sport. Statistics confirm this. I know Schumacher also has 7 world championships, but Hamilton has more wins, more podiums, more points per race etc. He's an absolute legend of the sport and though I'm not a Hamilton fan I respect him a lot.

Hamilton was the first driver to become not just a racing driver but a brand. His influence in the fashion scene is huge. You may not care about it a lot, but he did set the tone for others to use their name and fame for other things as well.

In case of Hamilton, I advise you to look into "Mission 44". That's his main foundation. He uses it to give kids with a less fortunate background a chance to education (especially into STEM), motorsports and to take their own future by the horns. I think that's really great. Yes he makes millions a year but he could just do anything with his money he wanted and decided to invest a part of it into Mission 44. I admire that a lot.

As for F1 in general, it was great seeing Hamilton getting his first win for Ferrari. He deserved the win and he was really good in Barcelona.
