Steam Machine is out - thoughts (and prayers)?

Post by Avatar »

Was really really looking forward to it, and of course the market has just done a number on prices for general hardware, so I really am not sure what to think.

I still love the style, form factor, the decent performance, but with the price at the moment, just not sure.

Here's a Polygon article about the opinions, I think it might be a bit ragebatey though https://www.polygon.com/valve-disappoin ... own-fault/

Exciting news - both my son and I we're super keen to see this come out, and considering we both have oldish gaming PCs would consider investing in them as next replacements.

I only use my gaming PC for steam, so perfect for my gaming. Keen to see what the reviews say.

Pricing - starts at $1600 AUD for the low end version, up to 2200 AUD, so those prices are actually competitive.

You must gather your party before venturing forth.
