Hi everyone,
As you know, Pennsylvania, USA is being hit hard with smoke from the Canadian and Minnesota wild fires. This has been at a level never seen before in our area. It is so bad I went out to go to the car and had a bad asthma attack.
With that being said, until the smoke clears, the videos will be limited. I may do some videos of the basement cacti but I just can not do the out door videos. Thanks for understanding the situation and for supporting me! More videos coming as soon as the smoke clears!
Until then, stay spikey, spiny and mostly don’t be a big spine, a big prick hurts, but a little prick just makes you tougher!
Live in peace, and pray/chant/dance/offer sacrifices/do a spell/whatever you can to make the smoke go away fast so all the cacti don’t die from the smoke. I’m considering bringing a few in to protect them, but it would be counter productive more than a few days to a week more of smoky conditions. I’ll just give them a nice shower after it rains to make sure it’s all off and cleaned off with a bit of chlorine from the town’s water to keep them healthy(er).
I am looking at my space for growing right now and it might be a bit hard to get it to all fit in, I should be able to. If not then it’s time for the big grow tent 8mx8m I think 6-8ft tall. Whatever it is, it just fits in our basement. So it must be 7 ft tall. So my neighbors will be going “wtf is with that grow tent?” Good thing is I should be able to do some hydroponics in the tent too and just get a nice set of lights for it. I would get one big light but I’d rather replace a few intermittently than one big one with a huge cost all up front at once when I can slowly add lights as I get more cacti. Why waste light if you’re not even using it? Plus they are cacti they can be squeezed right next to eachother just fine, so I just need to get myself some standardized big black square pots like I have the 1 gallon pots for the TBM-b (my indoor garden’s penis plants) just bigger sizes. That’s gonna cost some money but I think I can do it.
I was also considering taking some old kitty litter pails and use those for some easy growing. Drill some holes in the bottom, take the lid off of it and viola you have a mostly square container that’s big enough for a few to grow in.
Thanks again for reading my rant and watching this thread! I’ll keep everybody updated as the cacti grow and I can go back out again.
Have a great day!
