debian on a Microsoft Surface

Post by loph »

Hi!

I've been trying to install debian on an old Microsoft Surface Pro 5 for a while.

Everything went pretty well following the instructions on https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface - except for the cameras.

After a lot of patching and tweaking, I got both front and back cam running, but now I'm stuck with the back cam acting poorly: The auto focus and lighting/aperture really does not work well.

Maybe it's just a question of configuring libcam or maybe there're some wayland-tweaks that might render the back cam usable, but that's beyond my Linux abilities and maybe someone in here can point me in the right direction.

If you want to read up, what I did - it's in this thread (and me beeing 'loph-linux' of course): https://github.com/linux-surface/linux- ... sions/2224
