Sanderson - Stormlight Archive

Post by jadeia »

I know I'm late to the Sanderson party, but I only started reading his Stormlight Archives recently.

Finished Book I Way of Kings, and started on Book II Words of Radiance.

I found I drifted a bit during Book I, and already finding my mind wandering a bit more so on the second, but friends keep telling me to push through.

Anyone here read the whole Stormlight Archives? Also - what his other work? Looking for thoughts from anyone who's read more of his older work perhaps.

He's a great story teller don't get me wrong, I'm just finding it a bit of a slog right now.

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

I got introduced to him through Wheel of Time, the middle part of that series is also a slog, so I guess that prepared me well for his own work. I have been meaning to get into Stomrlight, but after munching through Wheel of Time, I'm a bit burned out on fantasy at the moment. Which is a bit sad, but the time will come. Maybe when the autumn starts. I'm looking forward to it, just got to get the energy and motivation.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Yo! Someone beat me to adding a Brandon Sanderson topic!
I've read most of his stories within the Cosmere. I'm only missing a couple novellas (like 3 maybe) and haven't read the White Sand graphic novels yet. I'm currently reading Isles of the Emberdark.
I started out by reading the original Mistborn trilogy and went on from there. It is most of the time recommended to start with Mistborn since it's a bit lighter reading than his epic, Stormlight Archive.

Brandon Sanderson is definitely my favorite author currently and I really like his Cosmere books. It's exciting to learn more about how it all fits together, when reading more and more of his works and I'm waiting patiently for more to come out. Branderson is a beast though when it comes to writing books, he just keeps churning them out!

I am a stick

A good friend of mine, also a Sanderson fan, urged me to start with Mistborn, but I was lured in by the Stormlight. Since I have stalled, I think I might swap over.
